Best RPG’s?


RPGs have been around for many years and have been played in many forms. RPGs have been around since the 50’s through the 70s with the fantasy war games being the genre used. Lord of the Rings and Dungeons and Dragons were the most popular and best games of their time and is still played by many until today.

Lord of the Rings is played with a dice of six sides to help with resolutions to actions. There are numerous characters within the game that can be chosen and assumed. Lord of the Rings earned the Origins Award for Best Role-Playing Game 2002. This game has been developed over the many years and a 4th sequence is under current development.


Dungeons and Dragons is one of the games that stood the test of time as it was developed in 1974 and is also played until today. It has also developed into a video game over time. Dungeons and Dragons is a tabletop game that assigns players and elects a game master to referee the game. The players need to solve problems, battle one another and gather treasure and knowledge.

Ultima VII: The Black Gate: First developed in 1992, the character moved through the game but had the ability to pick up anything or talk to anyone. The point of the game was to try and solve a murder and battle for another characters soul.

Deus Ex: Developed 2000, Deus Ex allows for a lot of choice in what the player chooses to do and explore. The character Deus Ex moves through the levels picking up clues to conspiracies.

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowmind: developed 2002., its character moved through the game completing quests and tasks.

Mass effect 2: This follow up was developed 2010 and allows players to build a team through levels and small stories. Character development throughout this game is very good.

Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition: Initially developed 2010, it has participants collecting items after completing certain missions while character development takes place in this game. Everything is connected brilliantly.

The Witcher 3

The Witcher 3: Developed 2015, is one of  the most popular, and also the best. The landscape of the game sets it apart from any other game in the industry as it tries to give the player a truly human experience with the great graphics in sunsets and environment.

Baulder Gate 2: The game allows for characters to be interchanged. As they game develops in levels the player can also evolve their character.

Planescape: Torment: The game has a great story in the game that captivates the player. The avatar called The Nameless One and his companions are some of the best written, most enjoyable ever coded. The point of the game is not to save the world but rather just discover who you are as the player through defining moments in the game.
